Sizing a Chicago container
Pre-1960 buildings make up 56% of the city. Tearing out their plaster and lath fills the weight allowance fast, so check tons before cubic yards.

Alley clearance
Many Chicago containers go in the alley behind the garage. Tell the company how wide the alley is and whether wires or trees hang low; the truck needs room to tilt the bed and slide the box off.
Dimensions and allowances are common industry figures. Each company's containers differ, so confirm on the written quote.
